Promoting a More Humane, Just and Sustainable World

The worldwide IBVM Network in partnership with The Congregation of Jesus (CJ) is present at the United Nations in New York City.  The voice of civil society is of increasing importance in multilateral decisions on vision and goals aimed at encouraging the human community to peaceful and respectful collaboration in a way that benefits all people and our planet.

UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals and IBVM US Province Commitment

When the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals  were first published, they became a commitment of the IBVM US Province.  The commitment has been renewed over the years.  The issues behind the goals are such that one touches the other.  In our efforts, communally and individually, the IBVM members, Companions, and friends continue to work to help bring a balance to our chaotic world doing what can be done in our particular environment to alleviate the suffering implied in each goal and to empower those with whom we minister.

As liaison to the NGO Office, Sr Arlene Ashack is responsible for highlighting the goals and updating our involvement.  How have you, individually or through a ministry,  integrated the work of the goals into your life?
