Announcing 2010 Reunions

Englewood High School Class of 1960

A reunion planning committee has been formed under the leadership of Sharon Pfeiffer Binter to plan for the 50th reunion of the class of 1960.  They have met and had lunch together and already have found the addresses for many missing alums.  Sharon, Sheila Crotty Moran, Pat Godfrey Styx and Kathy Connolly Schlott have been out to Wheaton to view past 50th reunion booklets and get some new ideas.  They even have the date set for the reunion.  They are going to celebrate on May 2nd, 2010, at Loretto Convent, Wheaton.  Know anyone in that class?  Let them know about the celebration.  If you are in that class, save the date.

Loretto Academy, Woodlawn Classes 1959-1962

Lillie Moore Wyatt has started the ball rolling for a reunion in June 2010 that will include the following classes from Loretto Academy, Woodlawn:  1959, 1960, 1961 and 1962.  If you are in one of those classes or know someone who is, please contact Lillie at lilliemoorewyatt@embarqmail.com or Opal Easter at 773-476-6843.  You may also contact Sister Marguerite at ibvmmarguerite@aol.com.  We are in need of many addresses from these four classes, so we look forward to hearing from many of you.

Reunions from 2009

Loretto, Englewood 60th Class Reunion – Class of 1949

Nineteen members of the class of Loretto Englewood 1949, and Marguerite Caulfield, IBVM, met at Bailey’s Restaurant on Ogden Ave. to celebrate their 60th reunion.  The celebration included the presentation of a beautiful bouquet of roses to classmate, Therese Fenlon, IBVM, and a memorial to their 25 deceased classmates.  An interesting summary of their past 60 years was shared and enjoyed by each one.  Many thanks to Jean Goyer White, Pat Helmhold Danaher and Lois Stratmeier for preparing this happy celebration. 

Loretto, Woodlawn 60th Class Reunion – Class of 1949

Pat Polk Cain and Peggy Munnelly Leahy did a great job gathering thirteen members of their class together at the Oak Lawn Hilton for a 60th Reunion on July 12, 2009.  They had beautiful    flower arrangements on the tables and each person could take home a remembrance of their celebration of 60 years. Letters from alums who couldn’t make it to the luncheon were read and enjoyed by those present

St. Adrian 55th Class Reunion – Class of 1954

Thanks to the planning and organization of Barbara Caulfield Casey, the St. Adrian Class of 1954 enjoyed a great reunion at Mama Vesuvio’s.  About 32 alums, plus some spouses, attended.  Barb decorated the room with an enlarged graduation picture, a poster of all their deceased classmates and a poster of their teachers’ pictures from years ago.  Name tags with grade school graduation pictures brought back many memories.

Loretto, Englewood 50th Class Reunion – Class of 1959

Maggiano’s in Oak Brook was the setting for the 50th reunion for 30 girls from the Englewood Class of 1959.  The event was planned by Marilyn Beranek Adams, Barbara Gannon Kimbauer, Liz McKenna McCue and Maggie Freyermuth Flynn.  The presence of former teacher, Joan Buckley, added to the excitement of the day.  Classmate Julie (Gail) Stapleton, IBVM, said grace before the delicious meal was served and all had a great time renewing old friendships and comparing stories of days gone by.
